Well, I have managed to get YDL installed now.
However when I go to login as root, i keep getting a
login incorrect message.
Any ideas? I reinstalled linux to make sure that I was typing
in the 8 letter password correctly.
I can set the run level to anything I want if that helps, but
I don't really know what to do when I have done so.
I have read through the pdf install file from YDL but it
hasn't mentioned anything.
The login screen says:
Welcome to Yellow Dog Linux!
Champion Server release 1.2 (tty)

Hi.
I got told to trash the ibook and have a play, so I decided
to try linux on it.
I have managed to install YDL on it, but can't figure out how to
boot it. I also cant get rid of a very small partition at the start of the
disk (0-63 blocks). Do I need to?
When i boot up the ibook I get an apple box with a ? in it. When I have the
installation cd in, I get an install boot. After I install I get a message
saying
To boot into Linux you must
set the 'Root device' in BootX
to /dev/hda2. You must also uncheck
the ramdisk option.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Antony
