1. Please don't post in HTML - especially since yahoo seems to add
advertisements to HTML mail.

2. I think it would depend on the shell. I'm sure my slackware 7 box
remembers, using bash, without any changes (the box works, I just can't
remember if it's running slackware 7 :-)
