I tried that - it probably starts the app, but that's _all_ it does -
since the app returns control immediately (actually a usermode daemon),
I'm logged out instantly.

I need some way that fits in with how gnome & icewm (& debian?) are set
up. The .xsession file seems to be part of an alternative sequence -
probably the default for X.

Ideally, whatever I choose should also kill the daemon when I log out.
