I think I spoke too soon. :-) Documentation of Coyote is sparse to
cryptic.

Questions in my mind as the Internet side will not rise up and smote the
ISP! I am doing this on the WIndoze Coyote Creator.

Questions

Username is my User ID on Paradise I assume, not my email name or names?

Login server is what?

I use a static IP for the Inet but DHCP for the LAN?

>From the config file.

IF_INET = Interface name for Internet connection
IF_LOCAL = Interface name for LAN connection
USEDHCP = (YES/NO) Indicates that Coyote should obtain its Internet IP via
DHCP (No in my case because I have a fixed IP)
DHCPHOSTNAME = hostname to pass along with DHCP request (NA)
IPADDR = Static IP address for Internet interface (My fixed IP)
NETMASK = Static Netmask for Internet interface
BROADCAST = Static broadcast for Internet interface
DNS1 = Primary DNS server
DNS2 = Secondary DNS server
DOMAINNAME = Internet domain name (paradise.net.nz?)
GATEWAY = Static default gateway address (fixed by Paradise?)
DHCPSERVER = (YES/NO) Indicates wether or not to use the Coyote DHCP server
(Yes, useful?)
DHCPD_START_IP = Starting IP for DHCP server pool (selected by Coyote?)
DHCPD_END_UP = Ending IP for DHCP server pool ( as above to define IP pool)
LOCAL_IPADDR = IP Address for local interface (fixed by Coyote, usually
192.168.0.1)
LOCAL_NETMASK = Netmask for local interface (255 etc)
LOCAL_BROADCAST = Broadcast for local interface ( 192.168.0.0? set by
Coyote?)
LOCAL_NETWORK = Local network number ( what?)

Lindsay

You've got it right from what I can see. As long as the PCs 'behind' your
Coyote box use the Coyote boxes IP address (IP 1 as you refer to it) as
their gateway address things should work fine.
I'm glad you found the Coyote set up to be as easy as I implied that it was.

Cheers

Jamie
