Give http://www.linuxnewbie.org a go  -its quite helpfull. You may also like to give mandrake 8.1 a try - its a bit more newbie friendly then RH  - using a less resource hungry winodws manager on machine may be worth while aswell - blackbox or windowmaker etc - KDE2 is nice for helping windows refugees to feel more comfortable but its probably a bit too resource hungry for your box (and its not on rh 7.0)

I know there are rh specific books avalible in pdf format on the web - I forget its name tho - you may want to search for it - its for 6.2 if i recall correctly. 

The rute tutorail is a great non distro specific source of info - its at:

Feel free to ask newbie style questions on the list aswell - thats what were here for.
