I am happy to prepare and distribute LUG pamphlets inside Linux books at the
Wellington Central Library.  I would use the text and form that it is on the
Website.  It would be less than page size so that it only becomes obvious to
someone who actually opened the contents page of the book.

I am happy to talk to the Library staff unless someone has more direct
networks with them?

Yesterday I received from Mandrake Linux a rather large bag filled with
copies of the "Download Edition" (Single CD Edition) of Mandrake Linux
version 8.0 and stickers.
We have 50 CDs and rougly the same number of sheets of labels. What I
suggest that we do at this stage is look at trying to donate say 3 copies of
Mandrake to each of the major libraries in the area (Wellington City, Hutt
City, Porirua City etc.) for them to add to their catalogue and lend out to
people. We can include on the back of each CD a label saying something about
the users' group with the web page address etc. and perhaps get some flyers
into each of the libraries as well.
If people would like to approach the libraries to canvas their interest
please feel free, but please post to the list your intentions first so that
we don't have 2 or more people trying to go to the same place and make the
same offer. Once you have a definate taker of some CDs let me know and I can
give you the CDs at the next mmeting.
Also any members who want a CD (or some labels) let me know and I'll keep
one aside for you (as long as we have enough to cover other things such as
libraries, maybe schools (?) and other places might think of that could make
good use of Linux).
