If you have 1.4 GB spare hard disc space lying about, I have found it rather
useful to have a local copy of the RPMS from the cdroms. This saves fiddling
about with cdroms.

To do it, copy the RPMS folders from the discs to somewhere. Then you can go
(as root)

urpmi.addmedia local1 file:///path/to/mandrake/rpms
urpmi.addmedia local2 file:///path/to/mandrake/rpms2
urpmi.addmedia local3 file:///path/to/mandrake/rpms3

You may want to edit your /etc/urpmi/urpmi.conf file and move the local
entries to the top of the list. If you're feeling bold, you could even

urpmi.remove cdrom1
urpmi.remove cdrom2
urpmi.remove cdrom3

but it might pay to backup /etc/urpmi/urpmi.conf and the contents of the
/var/lib/urpmi directory first!
