Hello fellow paradise users,

>From talking with some of you, Paradise has a problem where rather old
copies of website pages are sometimes displayed, which can be a bit
unnerving. Hitting refresh multiple times can sometimes result in a mix
of old and new pages being displayed. Associated with this problem was
that incorrect user agent strings were being sent to the web server. I
would like to thank fellow wellylug members who took the time to help
diagnose this problem.

I noticed this problem with my own site, and with the Linux-Mandrake
site. I asked them about it and today they notified me that these two
sites have been removed from their transparent caching system. It is
not clear they have got to the real cause of the problem; if so, this
will not help those of you on your own surfing and pages are not being
displayed properly.

I suggest you write to webmaster at paradise.net.nz if you experience this
problem yourself (although of course you may not realize you are viewing
an old page when you first visit it). Hopefully this problem can be
resolved quickly to the benefit of all parties concerned.

Damon
