Hi Sam,
Good questions all so I will copy your email and my response to the group.

Silicon Systems are providing their build workspace - benches, power, LAN,
screens. The LAN is switched, and there are at least 20 outlets. There is no
access from this LAN to the Internet. We may have a phone line for ISP
dial-up testing but I have not got that confirmed.

We need a few keyboards and mice, our own servers for either LAN
distributions or whatever.

Additionally we will have 4 or more copies of RH9, Mandrake 9.1, Knoppix,
and SME Server for sale.

Space permitting I will copy distro's on my PC to burn additional copies as
required. I will have blank CD's available for that purpose.

In the entrance there will be a selection of books from Dymocks for us to
sell (the group profits from this a little).

Further in from the entrance we would like to have some PC's with
demonstration software on them - I have found a flash file that explains
OpenOffice quite well, but nothing on Linux so far.

Yes I would welcome your PC as a Debian mirror, and possibly a DHCP server.
And of course your able self to handle those that want Debian. Having said
all that please keep in mind that it is likely we will have a mix of people
(as long as we get any) with varying degrees of computer knowledge - It
would be better not to totally confuse them with too many distro's.

Hi Colin,

Do you know anything about what network services will be provided for
the installfest?

If needed, I can bring a few switches and hubs, and some (but not much)
UTP cable.

Also, I'm going to be bringing an i386 Debian mirror with me for people
to do network installs off.

Do you know if there's a DHCP server at the location?

Also, is there an Internet connection there?

Cheers,

Sam Cannell
