Yes, quite.

Well, I tried it (2.6.0-test-1) on my Sony Vaio N505VE. This is a 3
year old laptop, Celeron running at 300Mhz. I was pleased to see that
for the first time I didn't have to do anything to get my crap NE2000
based PCMCIA ethernet card working; however,

    (1) ACPI by default; my system doesn't support ACPI, just APM, so
	suspend and resume didn't work.

    (2) When I tried to hotplug my ethernet card, when I unplugged, I
got a message from unregister_netdevice saying that the use
count was -4 for eth0, and it was waiting for it to come free.
Some sort of a bug there, that I might hunt out.

I suspect it'd work fine on desktops. I don't see any compelling reason
for me to upgrade at present, though, so I'll probably switch back to
2.4.20, which is what I was running before.
