winmail.dat is an attachment of type "ms/tnef". Jolly old Outlook uses this in
badly configured Outlook/Exchange setups to encode "rich text".

Recent evolution versions just take care of these Outlook-droppings. Otherwise,
you can use this - http://sourceforge.net/projects/tnef/- to read them.
