[wellylug] Introduction and GPRS settings question

Hi all,
This is my first posting to this list. I came across the WELLYLUG site the
other day while searching for a solution to a problem I was having with my
Mandrake 9.1 laptop. It's nice to know there are a few like minded Linux
lovers in my home town ;-)

Now a question, I am trying to set up a gprs connection to vodafone via my
Ericsson R520m phone. I am almost there now... I have the laptop talking to
the phone via bluetooth and the phone talking to vodafone.

The problem is I am getting the following error:

Could not determine remote IP address: defaulting to 10.64.64.64

I have checked with vodafone and on their website they state pap
authentication with blank user and password. I read the pppd man pages and
have the following in my pap-secrets:

I have spent hours on this but still no joy. I'd really appreciate any
suggestions!
