[wellylug] Semi-booting system...

hi,

I wanted to replace my LFS install, with a older version, on a cdrom, as
I had stuffed so many things up while trying to get gnome to work...:(

Originally, once my LFS worked, I make a backup onto cdrom, by copying
everything to a folder, and then to a cd.

To replace the current version with the backed up version, I simply
deleted all the files on the partition, and copied all the files from
the cdrom to the partition.

Now, when I boot it, it starts to load, but just before it starts Init,
the system stops and says:
"WARNING: Unable to open Initial Console"
I get stuck there, and cannot go any further. :((

Does anyone know what could be wrong, & how I might be able to fix it?
(I don't want to spend an entire weekend compiling software again...;)
