Not so weird. There was a project afoot a few years ago to create a PCI card
each with 8 StrongARMs and RAM, using the host for IO.
You could have as many of these as you had free PCI slots, eg. 40 SAs plus
the host CPU(s) all in one box.

Last I heard, they were stuck on getting IP over PCI working properly. That
was about '98

People were planning on using them for AI-Vision automatic production line
inspection systems etc.
