Try:

$ xdpyinfo | grep 'XVideo'

No result -> no XVideo extension.

You can also try 'xvinfo'.

If neither of those indicate Xv/XVideo is installed/enabled, try loading
the 'v4l' module in XF86Config and see if that enables it.
