[wellylug] February Meeting

A very interesting meeting tonight. Plenty of ideas and suggestions for
the year ahead. Some of the highlights were:
For future meetings:
Presentations on:
- Common commands and what they do - ie DOS counterparts
- Networking home and small office environments
	- LAN design
	- Connecting to the Internet
- Integrating to Microsoft - counterparts in Open Source
- Office Productivity tools in general
- Terminal Services
- SPIRIT parser Library
- IBM Update
- SUN Update
- MASSIVE from Weta Digital

Demonstrations of
- MySQL integration with Open Office etc
- Gnome Meeting

Special Interest Groups that people have expressed interest in forming
are:
- PHP
- PERL
- Parsing
- Voice over IP
- QT Language
- 20/20 Trust Support (Rob Giltrap)
These special interest groups will be set up as Discussion Groups on the
WellyLUG website.

Also discussed was that the LUG needs some support and formalizing.
Jamie has a basic set of Rules for forming a Club and will shortly
circulate them. People interested in helping refining them and
volunteering a little effort to support the activities would be most
welcome and should look at the SIG forums for this discussion as well.

Finally there were more than 30 people there tonight. It would be great
to know who was there and where to contact you in future. To help us
help you would you email me back and let me know some of the following
(all contact in strictest confidence and not shared elsewhere):
1. Your name
2. Your preferred contact address (snailmail, email, cellphone,
telephone, whatever)
3. Special skills relating to Linux
4. Areas you would like to know more about in the Open Source.
