To be able to leverage my current RDBMS knowledge (some Oracle, some MySQL), ie 
something that assumes you have basic SQL; something that contrasts with other 
RDBMS (eg answers questions like "what's the equivalent of an Oracle 
SEQUENCE"); something that doesn't repeat man pages or online docs but adds to 
them; something that's reasonably current.

Bob Wood's link actually led me to some online resources that largely fill the 
gap, I must say.
