[wellylug] partition table + win2k/linux/Seagate Disk Manager

Greetings.

I've encountered a weird problem with a recently installed HDD.
I've got a large new drive to replace old one in an office machine that
was running w2k workstation. It was also a chance to make PC dual-boot. I've
set up partitions using seagate disk manager: 2 for windoze (to migrate
from old HDD) and additional 2 FAT32 partitions that were to become linux
swap and linux root.

After migrating w2k and verifying the thing still works as it used to on
the old drive I started linux setup. Mandrake installed fine, placed Lilo
in MBR and booted ok from the last 2 partitions (which are now 82-swap and
83-linux), however when I booted back to w2k it tried to run chkdsk on
these two "damaged FAT32" partitions.

Linux sees these partitions as 82, 83 , windoze insists on Fat32.

This is first time I got this trouble, Usually windoze doesn't see any of
linux partitions and dual boot works fine. Could it be some
Seagate-Disk-Manager MBR failsafe thing?

Any suggestions ?

Have a lot of fun :)

Ilia
