FYI, What I do with any fresh install of windows / linux is install
windows first, so as to minimize the chance of it wrecking anything
linux related.  Don't let windows touch any linux partitions.  Also,
don't bother to partition anything outside of what you want windows to
have -- just leave the HD space blank.  Do the windows install, then use
Mandrake's disk partitioning tool to create the partitions you need
after you're finished with windows in the blank space.  Windows will
happily coexist in that set up, but all the usual caveats apply when
reinstalling windows.

BTW, the Mandrake 9.1 disk program will also resize NTFS partitions
which is a great new feature.
