I don't know anything about this (Mandrake-specific) file, but copy &
paste is good for this sort of thing. So is using a fixed-width font in
your email client, if you're trying to line things up (it happens often
enough that I always do).

Hold the ctrl key and press h. Note that these things should always be
specified in their correct case (the letter key, not ctrl) as C-h (to
use emacs notation) will do something different from C-H (hold both ctrl
& shift & press h).

There's a tutorial built in; press C-h t (2 chars; C-h then t).

All of this BTW is on the splash screen when you start emacs with no
file.
