Yes - I did and it would have been fine except I must have some strange 
directories because got this message:
"ftp://dionstoywork//Linux/Mandrake/1585/Mandrake/RPMS/foomatic-2.0-0.20020913.1mdk.1586

error: couldn't find host."

This repeats with each package.

I 've been having a dialogue with Jonathon about it - he has asked a few 
questions about directories etc.  So I guess he will come back to me 
with some ideas sometime.

I really appreciate all the help you and others have given me.

Once the printer is set up I'll be able to play around a lot more and 
not come back into Windows all the time.  I like to print any 
instructions so I can follow them line by line, or letter by letter  
actually!
