Hi Rose,

How much hard disk space do you have - type this:

df -h

which gives you your available disk space. If you have enough room, you can 
copy all the rpm files from your Mandrake CDs to your disk somewhere, and 
then point urpmi to them.

To explain, urpmi is the thing Mandrake uses to install new bits of software, 
which is what it is trying to do when you go to install your printer. 
Currently your urpmi is pointing to a bizarre ftp site (probably the one dion 
set up at work?) which it can't find.

So, we need to fix up your urpmi to point to your Mandrake CDs (or, a local 
cache on your hard disk for convenience so you don't have to keep fiddling 
CDs in and out, which is why I'm asking how much room you have, as it takes 
up about 1.5 GB)

PS. in emacs - press ctrl+x followed by ctrl+s to save - ie. hold down the
