As another hardware reseller supporting Linux, I understand the sentiments, but
don't entirely agree. It is a bit too simplistic :-)

There have been many instances of me selling components/systems to customers
when I wouldn't use them myself. Linux driver support is a classic case in
point. My preferred Linux solution (for my own use) is not necessarily my
suggested Windows solution for a client not interested in Linux.

The other common situation is budget, where I can offer a customer an
affordable solution for them, even if I wouldn't use it myself. Of course in
this case the situation should be discussed with the customer so they are fully
aware of the issues involved :-)

Given the OSS nature of this list, people here will often (but fortunately
getting less common) run into issues of Linux (etc) support/compatibility
limiting the range of hardware options.
