On the server - not at first :) right now it has X/Xdm for "remote
X-terminal" experiments :)

On the workstation - yes, I compiled X and KDE several times (new
versions). X is not a big deal, you just "make world" and go to bed :)

Currently on my LRs-running workstation (that I had on the last LUG
meeting) i have (all compiled from source) XFree86 Version 4.2.1 and KDE 3.1.2

The last "true" LFS system (still intact on another partition) had X 4.2.0
and KDE 3.0.3.

Sorry, didn't touch Gnome for long time because I never really liked
it (let's start holy wars ! :)
