Hi Jamie
The % with a number is when you have a <space> or some other character in
your file names. I see this all the time on websites. People here seem to
have found a way around it using a tar file, but I suppose you could (if it
is a windows pc), zip the files up and then use Archiver on your Linux box
at the other end.
Regards
Michael

Subject: [wellylug] Odd characters in filenames
I have just noticed that I have series of files that I want to copy from
an NFS shared to my PC that have a '%' sign somewhere in their filename
(eg apex011a%25.jpg). This appears to be causing some problems and I
wonder if there is any easy way to remove the symbol/rename the
offending files.
Any help appreciated as I do not want o have to do this m=by hand as
ther could potentially be several hundred files with this character (or
other odd balls ones) in them and having an easy method to rename would
be great.
Cheers
Jamie
