I have worked with both a 24" wide screen CRT monitor and a dual headed 18.1" LCDs

The wide screen was great for having two full A4 sized pages side by side but I preferred
the dual 18" as my brain found it much nicer to be able to box separate concepts into each
screen. Communications in one screen (email, IRC, Videoconf) and active work in the other
(Browser, documents etc). The only trouble is that now I work for myself I can't afford 2*18"
LCD monitors :-(

I also played with a 28" CRT wide screen and that was just getting ridiculous on a desktop. The
visual area was just too big to take in at a desktop distance. I believe we may be not far from
reaching the practical limits for monitors.

Rob.
