[wellylug] InstallFest Summary

OK there has been a lot of suggestions and comments so let's take a breather
for a moment and summaries:

1. It is important to recognize an InstallFest will have to cater to 2
different audiences: new and familiar
	- We need build CD's and CD's for sale - offers please
	- These need to be standard Distributions
	- The Distributions should be the latest in a few distro's - i.e.
Mandrake, Red Hat and one for PowerPC.
	- People that arrive wanting expert advice should be referred to the
website and LUG meetings / list
2. We need to consider advertising and the like
	- Trade & exchange?
	- Community Newspapers
	- Community Radio
	- Bus notice boards
	- what else? - an organizer familiar with these - offers please.
3. Voting so far splits Saturday and Sunday for support.
	- Consensus agrees a part-day, probably morning is best.
	- We will never satisfy everyone - better some than none at all
	- We want a minimum number of members at the event - please indicate
your preference.
4. Location of event
	- this needs confirmation for Rongotai? - Lindsay?
	- How about the Hutt or Porirua or elsewhere for another event? -
think about it but don't confuse with this one.
5. Equipment
	- Power boards - no problem
	- Power cords - no problem
	- switch for network - offers please
	- CAT5 cables - offers please
6. WellyLUG Information
	- need flyers - I can update last one and print
	- cards?	- offers please
	- Membership applications for WellyLUG? Just a thought but it may
help
	- contact info for members so people that do come along can get back
if a problem arises?
	- Tea / coffee / refreshments for the sufferers! - 

One thing - will there be a minimal charge to people coming along? What
price CD's for sale?

Ok I think that covers it. Please in your responses specify which you are
responding to.

Sponsorship - what form can this take, please? Photocopying / printing of
some of the above would be great, and blank CD's to create copies of
distro's on?
