Samba is a server, for serving file shares and printers to other machines. It
does not include client software to see shares and printers on other
machines. To do that, you need smbclient, which is separate and includes
smbmount, to mount other samba/windows shares to a dir on your filesystem.
Try:
smbclient -L host
smbclient -U username -L host
host can be a windows name with fwd slashes, eg. //slartibartfast or an IP
address, eg. 192.168.1.103
Printing to a Windows box was a bit thorny. I can't remember how I got it
working now, but reading the samba and cups docs and a quick google search
seemed to fix it.
Cheers,
Jon
