When this thread started someone asked for "a 'professional' looking logo."

I hope some of these suggestions are not people's ideas of "professional"!

The first act of progressing an idea is to propose it and seek support.

Generating ideas follows and this can take the form of an 'anything goes'
forum or a highly robotized do this, then suggest that approach. I prefer
the former, but that's me.

The next step is to refine what is acceptable and what may be possible,
winnow out those that are plainly nutty, and extract the ideas that may work
together.

Finally there is the review and selection process - let's look and see! And
make a decision. (no suggestions allowed here).

Then we have a product.

Of course it helps if everyone can see what is being talked about... (not a
yahoo user!)
