Don't you just hate those who plagiarize your art :-( NB I thought a 
balanced 'Wellington' at the bottom, 'Linux User Group' over the top looks 
better - just showing my conservative streak I expect)

Please also forgive the cheap cut & paste look of my last effort 
(kiwi/tux/hive encircled), I'm just going for concept here, I'm sure 
someone else can use some decent tools to do it properly (I vote Ilia gets 
the job :-).

If we throw a kiwi in there I think it should be a stylised tux-like 
one.  Could be cute/serious/business-like etc to convey whatever image WLUG 
wants to show to the world.  Anyone out there with a hint of artistic 
ability care to paint one?
Given certain extreme nationalistic proclivities being exhibited around the 
world at the moment, I'd much prefer a kiwi instead of a national flag as 
part of our logo.

I now think tux should be adorned in the little blue penguin garb as they 
are the Wellington locals.
The little blue has a dark beak, blue back etc, white front, and light pink 
feet and also some species (not sure about Wgtn locals) have a white lower 
edge to their flippers, possibly yellowish eyeball..

Personally, I don't think we need the wind/speed streaks but I could be 
convinced ...

Beehive could be greyed out like Ilia's.

Do other LUGs around nz have logos?  I was just thinking you could do a 
national LUG logo with kiwi/tux/encircled, and Auckland logo with 
kiwi/tux/skytower/encircled, CHCH logo with kiwi/tux/cathedral/encircled 
... Getting very corporate here :-) :-) ....
