[wellylug] Getting some 'structure' to the group

You will all have seen me mention this in the past, but the time has come
for some action to be taken.
I'd like people to give some thought to getting some structure to the group
and to nominate candidates for positions such as Chairman, treasurer,
education officer (in charge of making sure that the newer members are able
to access help etc.), webmaster.
It may be that you want to nominate people for positions other than those
already mentioned.

It would seem to me that to make the group really take off we need to do
something like this and hopefully there will be people willing to offer
themselves for various roles in the group.

I must add that due to some possible changes in circumstance for myself I
cannot stand for any of the 'major' positions but will still stay involved
with the group and possibly maintain the website if no-one else wants that
role.

I have already had an offer from Gerald Jones to stand as treasurer (he is a
retired accountant, and hopefully I have got his details correct here!), so
that gets the ball rolling.

I'd like people to give this some serious thought with a view to further
discussions at the June meeting and possibly elections in July.
