You need a clause in your rules somewhetre defining members and the
reference to a subscription covers this. Currently potential members sign up
on the WLUG site by completing the form online, so a reference to "upon
completion of the form...' and adding after subscription the words,
"...which shall be set annually by a meeting of members of the group..." or
words to that effect. The group can then determine its own subscription
rate, or resolve to set it at $0 or have differing types/levels of
membership ranging from $0 to $x covering newbie to hardened enthusiast.
I haven't looked closely at the draft rules suggested as I have been busy
but I'll see what suggestions I can offer after reading them properly
