Slackware ! It comes with least amount of "bloat" :)))
The question is - what are you going to do with these ???
if you want to use these boxes as router/firewall - you better off
building OS yourself (LFS) with the latest (and supposedly most patched
and secure) versions of software.
if you just want a "email/typewriter" terminal - use old Slackware
(3.5,...,4.0/7.0)...
I am quite happily using Slack 3.5 on COMPAQ Contura laptop
(i486/25Mhz....) for "electronic-book/X-terminal", yet my home server is
LFS system on Pentium75.
