I like Gentoo as well, but I have found that enjoyment of it is proportional 
to the speed of the internet connection, ie. it's not that flash if you've 
only got 56k dial-up.

Also, I would hazard to suggest that if you're using Redhat you're probably 
using it in a production situation, and you're after something a little more 
out-of-the-box than Gentoo.

As a good replacement for Redhat in production use, I would suggest Suse, 
Debian, or possibly Mandrake Server (though it is fairly new and relatively 
unproven).

Not wanting to start a fresh distro jihad, just my opinion  :-)
