In Italy the "Italian Linux Society" (a no-profit organization which 
wants to spread knowledge about linux) has registered linux.it, and 
gives away for free third-level domains for regional or city LUGs, e.g. 
http://www.verona.linux.it (the LUG of my city) or http://
www.veneto.linux.it (the reference group for lugs of my region).

Perhaps there's a way to do the same with linux.org.nz or something like 
that? E.g. wellyngton.linux.org.nz (or wellyngton.linux.nz, if that's 
permitted by the local NIC).
