If getting wlug.paradise.net.nz involved anything like you (ie, Jamie)
saying "Hey, I'm a Paradise customer, would you mind hosting a
site for the WellyLug?", especially back in the days when Shane Cole was
running paradise, then I imagine the way that made its way through the
records that TelstraClear inherited was as "wlug.paradise.net.nz is an
add on to Jamie's account".  (I know of a whole bunch of "add ons" like
that dating from that time, because I know various people who know/knew
Shane Cole well.)

Hence -- some years later -- stopping paying for one makes the other go
away.  Automatically.

It appears to me that while Paradise haven't exactly bent over backwards
to keep wlug.paradise.net.nz working for free past when you cancelled
your account, they also aren't being deliberately mean about it.  Even if
you didn't expect that cancelling one would mean that the other would
go away, it seems to me that you perhaps should have expected it might
and investigated.

Finally I'd like to point out that this is a Linux users discussion
list.  Not a "paradise sucks" list.  And I'd really like to see any
"paradise sucks" (or "my ISP sucks" or whatever) things disappear from
the list.

Let's go back to talking about using Linux, okay?
