The only "hardware" modems available in NZ so far have all been
hardware-assisted softmodems. Don't ever trust a supplier selling
hardmodems until you have verified that it's one in reality as well as
in the salesperson's mind (it's like real estate - Cashmere must be
covering half of Christchurch).

Next question: is it telepermitted in NZ?

If it is indeed what it looks like it might be, very useful indeed.
