Personally, I believe that to try and divorce the open source development 
philosophy from its political and economic implications is at best naive. I 
think there is a relation, which is why you see the neo-conservative right 
labelling open source hackers "communists" and hackers nurturing a fairly 
potent skepticism of monopolistic software corporations (over-polarised for 
sake of argument).

Anyway, this list is already political. Any time anyone expresses their 
opinion, that's politics, so get over it!  :-)

However, that is just my personal opinion, and not the point of this post.

To clarify:

I sent Nandor a note to see if he was interested in joining the email 
discussion as a Linux user, not as a politician. I am no more or less 
interested in Green politics than anybody else's particular flavour. I thought 
it might be interesting to hear what he had to say at a meeting.

I don't really see what the fuss is about.
