Heh ... even though it appears that it (the invitation)
is primarily for publicity I think that the others would be
far less likely to show up ;)

Sorry, but that's not even half the scope of the word
in classical greek :)
Polis = city, capital, home (as in home town), the
citizens, the (city-)state, the (attic) democracy
Not that any of this had anything to do with your
cause, I just thought I'd throuw that in ;)
And then again, there's Richard Stallman :}
and when he talks about Open Source it does
sound rather political.
