1. Does anyone on the list participate in distributed.net's (
http://www.distributed.net/rc5/ ) attempt to crack RSA's RC5 challenge (
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/RC5_encryption_algorithm )? If so is there
a NZ Linux Team, if not does anyone want to start/join one?
2. Has anyone installed a PPC distro and have any recommendations of
what to install on an imac 550/128, Yellow dog 3 looks pretty good,
anything else, mandrake Debian? General PPC comments, warnings?
3. I want to move to Debian on the desktop (x86) after having used
mandrake/red hat for a few years. I use stable on servers and have never
ventured into unstable/testing territory (or even run X), which one is
better, how often are they broken? I am not too fussed about having the
latest and greatest but don't want to be too out of date and am unsure
of how out of date either of these are compared to the latest
mandrake/redhat. Also I sometimes play games like old loki titles,
windows native games with winex (cstrike), and native titles like ut,
enemy territory, thinktanks, rtcw, q3 (and mods) etc. Are there any
issues with closed source gaming under Debian?
Opinions welcome, thanks
Don Jones
