Another option I'd like to put to the group is as follows:
I have a 30GB HDD that I would be prepared to donate to the group for
use as a drive to hold distro's for members to copy.
The group currently has a reasonably healthy amount of cash that I
propose we use a portion of to buy an external USB case for the 30Gb
drive so that it can be plugged into any users PC for them to get
distro's off (most modern kernels handle USB drives with no issues).
An external 3.5" USB drive case would cost us something around the
$130-$150 mark (and the drive for it would obviously be free).
What are peoples thoughts on this? I can see a few advantages to the USB
based solution in that it is easily portable where PCs are not, and it
can always make it to meetings as it can be passed on easily.
Would welcome thoughts on this.
Cheers
Jamie
