Damn Small Linux is a cut down knoppix distro (with a few other thing
thrown in) and can be carried round on a business card sized CD rom, and
is said to work well on older machines. Pretty cool I thought and weighs
in at just under 50 mb.

Were you aware that you could get a boot floppy for Knoppix? The tools
to make it are on the CD.

I used Knoppix to recover data from several dead NT machines.
Unfortunatly my machine here steadfastly refuses to boot from a CD so
I'm about to use Tomsrtbt www.toms.net/rb to do a MBR transplant. If my
next post comes from oulookexpress, you know it went horribly wrong ;-)
