Hi Sam

Lycoris Desktop/LX is released under the GPL, the only parts that are not
covered are any artwork (wallpapers, icons etc). You can download and use
the source (cd2 of 3), but you must follow the Lycoris license and the GPL
if you release anything to the public using Lycoris source.

Update 3 of Desktop/LX has just been released today, but will not be
available off public mirrors until November 1st.

All Desktop/LX users are allowed to get system updates, you don't need a
license key to get updates (the only case where this is not so in the
Productivity and Game Paks). The license key gets you 60 days e-mail tech
support and lifetime access to IRIS.

I can't see why people have a problem with Linux companies making money from
selling Linux distro's plus add-on Paks. Look at Mandrake, they have filed
for bankruptcy because their users never supported them. People need to get
their heads out of the sand and get with the real world. If you need / want
a free distro with no commercial support, look elsewhere.

If you find you need help with the "free download edition" then the
community site is the best place to start (http://www.lycoris.org).

Regards

Michael
