Hi Daniel,

Hope you had a nice evening last week, still on for the meeting tomorrow?

I've been involved in PC user group meetings for several years, in my
experience it is *really* important to make a point of having a specific
topic for discussion, presentation or a demonstration at every meeting (it
doesn't have to be long or take up the entire meeting, and can be done by a
LUG member or an external speaker) - and give adequate notice of what will be
happening. People need to be convinced that it is worth giving up an evening
to attend a meeting, most people won't do this on a regular basis unless they
feel they will get something back. It can take a while to build up numbers.

Of course, people generally won't tell you what they want to see at meetings,
as it may just be they want to see or learn about something they didn't even
know existed.

If you haven't anything else in mind for tomorrow, I'd really like to see a
K12LTSP demo. Any chance of that? I'd also like to learn a little about Linux
and laptop hardware - pcmcia and suspend/resume etc, and can provide a laptop
with Mandrake installed if there are likely to be any people attending who
have experience in this area and can assist in setting this up.

Alternatively, does anybody else have any suggestions?

cheers
