Hi,
I'm after some help installing a suite of co-dependent software on a mandrake
box.
I prefer to install from mostly source tarballs, as versions range from 0.1 to
7+, so there is a wide mix of stable & beta. Summat like apache can be
automagically from the install disks if suitable.
What I want to do is install:
Postgres
PostGIS
GDAL
GEOS
PROJ4
Qt
QGIS
apache
mapserver
maplab
& maybe JUMP/JRE
The idea is to build a totally Open Source GIS & internet mapserver based on
the above tools, ideally being used as a demo & possibly a prototype of a
system to provide the LINZ vector topo data I'm working on at present.
I'm pretty familiar with GIS/RDBMS applications, and can have everything ready
to install (as far as I know). There are reasonable instructions for most of
this, it is a bit new to me & someone to help me through it, incl setting up
the cgi mapserver would save me heaps of time & frustration.
Hopefully it can all be done in one evening by someone with a few more clues
than I have.
So, if you have the knowledge/skills & time, any help appreciated....
Brent Wood
