[wellylug] Database application using OpenOffice?

Thanks for all the feedback/info.
I'm just doing some feasibility study for now. Openoffice is quite good as a general front to SQL databases, altho I've only tried connecting to MySQL via ODBC. The form autopilot feature allows you to create forms quite easily. Postgres shouldn't be too different if you can get it talk ODBC to OOo.
OOo is good as a general front for updating databases, I'm not sure if its as easy to use as Access to create application, eg. stock management console kinda thing. Or at least it needs some elbow grease to get started. Had a look at Rekall, the only problem is I don't have any experience with Python...
So the quest continues.
Cheers,
Hong
