[wellylug] OT: An explanation

I thought it was time for a brief explanation of my moods etc. over recent
weeks.

As some of you know I have been in a lot of pain (agony actually!) due to
knee problems. This has just been diagnosed (on Tuesday, post X-Rays last
Friday) as 'early onset Arthritis' in my right knee.

At age 34 this is a bit of a shock, I always knew I was going to get
Arthritis due to a motorcycle accident over 15 years ago which did major
damage to my knees, but to get it so soon is a bit of a shock.

I now have to make some fairly large lifestyle changes, changes in diet,
changes in what I do (it is now very difficult for example to take our dog
for a walk) and just have to work out how to cope with the day to day pain
that I am in.

This has all obviously affected my moods over recent weeks and is likely
to have manifested itself in the tone of messages that I have posted to
the list. I meant everything that I have said, but perhaps could have said
things in a more positive (less angry) way.

I will still be involved in WLUG, just from the sidelines for the meantime
while I come to grips with the changes I need to make in my life to allow
me to stay active for as long as possible (the first change is that I need
to lose 15Kg to be at a better weight to hopefully lessen the immediate
joint problems).

Sorry for the length of this off-topic post but I thought it best to
explain what has been happeneing in the hope that some of my earlier
messages might be better understood.
