I used Familiar and Intimate linux quite intensively several years ago on
a couple of iPaqs. As a development target it was fine but I agree it
wasn't terribly usable as a 'PDA' running out-of-the-box Familiar. However
that's not the point - IMO you install Linux on this sort of thing
(iPaq, iPod, Xbox, toaster) so you can *HACK* :)

However, for PDA use, did you try out GPE or OPIE?

It's been a while since I've played with an iPaq now - I had considered
getting a cheap one on TradeMe but I've never got around to it (or had
the spare change).
