Yup, but you could make use of the crosscompiler toolchain, ssh and nfs :)
I didn't write a single line of code using the stylus...

Intimate Linux is a Debian-based ipaq distro that runs over NFS - you can
compile on the target with that, which made things easier for me at the
time since the toolchain was pretty scratchy.
