[wellylug] Fax Servers and Why I choose WinFax

All valid points.
The post was personal opinion and a bit of a rant.
Yes, it is my fault for not knowing more. I know that I should learn more
CLI, but I haven't upto this point due mostly to time commitments (I've just
been trying to teach myself vi over the couple of days). Also, to get any
good training costs money and there are not many linux courses around.
I sometimes wish for the good old days of DOS 6.2 and Win 3.1. To fix
something was just a simple hack of a INI file.
Those were the days, he says thinking about them fondly.

Then perhaps a more productive avenue would be to email suggestions to
the developers of the software telling them the features that *you*
would like to see?
Note - I said suggestions, not threats that they won't be "accepted by
the masses" if they don't add pretty gui management tools. Chances are
many of them couldn't care less if the masses didn't use their program.
If nothing else, at least you might get an understanding of the reasons
why they've chosen to stick to writing CLI tools. Also, perhaps they
have seen more suitable gui products that you missed when you were
looking.
Again, complaining about it here isn't going to solve a whole lot.
Sam

I wish I could programme because I would fix the problem. I have looked
at
about half of the projects on sourceforge and "personally" consider most
of
them a waste of time. Sure, some of them are just pet projects that
people
are working on (and no I am not bashing them) but some are just a joke.
(remember - personal opinion here).
